Steve Davis Ugba, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, visited Minsk Tractor Works.
In April, the parties already discussed the possibility of organizing the assembly of Belarusian tractors in Nigeria, and even signed a memorandum of understanding. Today the African delegation confirmed its intentions.
“My regular visits to MTW are a proof that our intentions are serious. I believe in the products of the Minsk Tractor Works and I want to contribute to the promotion of your products in Nigeria,” the diplomat said and urged the company's management to think about the strategy for penetration of Belarusian agricultural machinery to the Nigeria market, since other large machine-building companies are already looking at it.
“We are interested in the Nigeria market. We have been dealing with it for a very long time and have experience of cooperation for more than 10 years. By this time, we have worked out about three proposals for the creation of assembly plants in Nigeria,”, — Dmitry Schastny, Deputy marketing director for commercial work in non-CIS markets, head of Board for Product Promotion and sales in non-CIS countries said.
According to him, the idea of creating an assembly production of BELARUS tractors in Nigeria is not implemented only because the companies that were going to cooperate with MTW had problems with financing.
However, today, as before, the plant is ready to provide comprehensive support in setting up an assembly production in Nigeria with a reliable partner. And in turn Mr. Ambassador took control of this question.
