The Solemn Ceremony, organized by the employees of the joint Belarusian -Cambodian enterprise “Belarus-Mekong”, was held in the national traditions of Asian countries. Before cutting the red ribbon, the Chief Minister — Minister of Industry and Handicrafts of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Cham Prasit, who attended the ceremony on behalf of the Prime Minister Hun Sen, received the blessing from the five monks.
At the ceremony the Cambodian side was represented also by directors of large local banks, representatives of Ministries of Agriculture and Mines and Energy, as well as by the Managing Director of the joint venture “Belarus-Mekong”, Yip Kimteng.
Belarusian delegation was headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makey. From our country the ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Industry Gennady Svidersky, Belarusian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam and with concurrent accreditation to Cambodia Valery Sadokho and General Director of OJSC “MTW” Vladimir Volchok.
The event attracted attention of local mass media. Reports about the Belorussian tractor rolled off an assembling line in Cambodian territory, widely broadcasted on the television. By the way, the Cambodian Minister Cham Prasit personally tested the first “Belarus” tractor assembled in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
According to preliminary calculations, the Opening Ceremony was attended by about five hundred people including representatives of local businesses. By the way, from the beginning of Belarusian tractors assembling in Cambodia there are many prospects to produce attached implements for many of them. “Belarus” tractors with local moldboards were presented at the exhibition, held in front of the new enterprise. Participants of the ceremonial event highly appreciated an importance of the joint project for economy of both countries.
